Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko was announced as the newest head coach of the SkyFury Counter-Strike esports team on Friday, September 20. This marks Zeus’ return to the competitive CS scene for the first time since 2020, when he left pro100 after he pulled the plug on the project.

Widely considered as one of the legends in the Counter-Strike esports scene, Zeus is mostly known for his time at Natus Vincere, who he led between November 2012 and August 2016 and again from August 2017 to September 2019.

While Zeus spent most of his Counter-Strike: Global Offensive career with Natus Vincere, his most notable accomplishment came during his stint with Gaming Esports, with who the Ukrainian who his first and only Major – the PGL Major Kraków 2017.

With Natus Vincere, Zeus placed second in two Majors, the FACEIT Major: London 2018 and MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016.

The 36-year-old has been involved in the CS scene since the early days, making his debut in 2004 with pro 100 on CS 1.6 and he continued to be involved in the competitive world until 2019 when Zeus stepped down as in-game leader of Natus Vincere.

After moving away from competing, Zeus turned his focus to pro100, which he relaunched in 2017, yet the project disbanded in 2020. Since then, Zeus has not been involved in any esports programs until today.

The CS veteran will now lead a newly formed SkyFury Counter-Strike team, which features an all-Ukrainian roster featuring young and mostly unproven players.

Formerly of NaVi Junior, Yuriy "rendY" Halyshyn is the most proven member of the new project, with 47 official matches under his belt. In contrast, his teammates have little to no experience competing in a professional setting.

SkyFury don’t have any official matches scheduled in the near future, however, it should not take long before we see the project in action.

Joining SkyFury also sees Zeus step into the coaching position for the first time ever, having previously only served as a player and in-game leader.
