CadiaN Joins Astralis as Rifler and IGL
- Casper "cadiaN" Møller has officially joined Astralis
- The 29-year-old will replace Alexander “br0” Bro
- CadiaN reunites with two former teammates from HEROIC

Casper "cadiaN" Møller
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Astralis announced the signing of Casper "cadiaN" Møller, who joins the all-Danish Counter-Strike lineup from Team Liquid. CadiaN will take over the rifling position on the new roster, where he'll replace Alexander "br0" Bro and take over the in-game leading duties from Nicolai "device" Reedtz.
CadiaN's arrival comes as a shock, as it sees the veteran Counter-Strike player join his former rival team. Moreover, by joining Astralis, cadiaN reunites with Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard less than a year after the three players split with HEROIC.
As later reported, the split was initiated by jabbi and stavn, who did not want to play with cadiaN, yet the situation eventually led to the departure of all three.
After leaving HEROIC, cadiaN joined Team Liquid, where he remained for six months but failed to succeed in more significant events. His most notable accomplishment with the North American esports organisation came towards the end of his tenure at CCT Season 1 Global Finals, where Liquid placed second.
Unfortunately, cadiaN failed to lead his team to much success in other S-Tier events, with a fifth-eighth-place finish at ESL Pro League Season 19 and seventh-eighth at Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024.
By joining Astralis, cadiaN will switch positions, stepping away from his usual AWPing role to rifling. However, he will remain the in-game leader, taking the role away from device.
I'm thrilled to have signed with Astralis. I understand some might see this as a controversial move, given my history with the team and past rivalries. Some may even question whether stepping away from the AWP is the right decision. But the truth is, I share the same vision as Astralis: always striving to be the best, building a top Danish CS roster, and competing for the biggest titles.
In the statement, cadiaN also addressed the controversial reunion with jabbi and stavn, stating that the trio are now in good relations and have put their past challenges behind them.
This reunion with jabbi and stavn is, of course, exciting for all of us. We've addressed the challenges we faced in the past, and today we're fully aligned. After a year of reflection, we’re still hungry for trophies and continue to share the same tactical vision that drove our success before.
The shock roster move follows Astralis’ recent early exit from ESL Pro League Season 20, where the Danish lineup finished in 21st-28th-place. It marked the fourth consecutive S-Tier tournament in which Astralis failed to place top four - the last time Astralis accomplished that feat was in June at YaLLa Compass 2024.
The new-look Astralis lineup will debut at BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024 later this month. For their opening match of the tournament, Astralis will face off against the current no.1 Counter-Strike team, Team Vitality.
