Priced at 1.58 with the top Counter-Strike bookmakers, BetBoom Team are given a 63.3% implied probability of beating Monte, who enter the series as 2.20 underdogs. This is, however, a bit number, considering there is not much to set the two teams apart quality-wise.

BetBoom Team enter the second round of ThunderPick World Championship 2024: European Series #2 following a convincing victory against LEON Esports, who they beat in two maps. However, BetBoom did drop 15 combined rounds (13-8, 13-7), which doesn’t look too exciting given the quality of the opponents they had to face.
Nevertheless, the Russian Counter-Strike esports team have now won all but three of their last ten series. They are 5-2 since August 16, with their only two losses coming against Team Falcons and paiN Gaming. That’s an impressive record to hold for their standards.
BetBoom also won CCT Season 2 European Series #8 just over two weeks ago, so while they might not have the star talent, BB Team are clearly in excellent shape.

Monte Form
Monte has done very well this season for their standards. During the summer, they placed in the top four at CCT Season 2 European Series #5 and CCT Season 2 European Series #6, and they recently added another top-four finish at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024: European Open Qualifier #2.
Form-wise, Monte are not in that good of a spot, though. They’ve won six of their last ten series but not once against a formidable opponent. In the first round of ThunderPick World Championship 2024: European Series #2, Monte defeated MOUZ NXT with 13-7 and 13-6, although they had to forfeit the second map due to connection issues.
Overall, Monte are holding on well, but they seem to struggle from the lack of consistency, and we have not seen them beat any great teams lately.

Verdict
Monte and BetBoom Team have yet to meet so it’s tough to say how they match up. Nevertheless, it is easy to see why the Russian squad are priced a favourites. They’re more consistent, are in better shape and have recently beaten teams stronger the Monte. And we can’t say the same about the Ukrainians.
