BIG are 1.65 favourites for this series with the best Counter-Strike bookmakers, whereas GamerLegion enter the match as 2.20 underdogs. Considering what the two teams have shown lately, that sounds like a fair assessment, even though neither produced anything too noteworthy.

BIG qualified for BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024 by placing ninth-12th in Fall Groups, which is far from admirable. And they have not improved upon that showing since, adding another early-exit from Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024 at the start of the month.

The German Counter-Strike team started their campaign in Cologne with a close 2-1 victory against FlyQuest but then dropped the next two against SAW (1-2) and Team Falcons (1-2), who eliminated BIG from the tournament.

With those results, BIG are 3-7 from their last ten series, which is as bad as it sounds. Even though their last six series all came from S-Tier tournaments and mainly against stronger teams, that doesn’t change the fact that BIG’s only notable win since late July came against the inconsistent Virtus.pro (1-2).

GamerLegion Form

GamerLegion are expected to struggle on Friday, priced as 2.20 underdogs with Stake to defeat BIG. Yet this price might not be entirely fair, as even though GamerLegion haven’t shown much lately, neither have BIG.

GamerLegion are actually in good form, as they have won five of six series played. This includes victories against lower ranked teams, however, such as Aurora Young Blud, The Suspect, Zero Tenacity, 1win, and SINNERS Esports. Still, most of the wins were fairly convincing, so it is fair to assume GamerLegion will do fine when faced with a more formidable opponent.

BIG v GamerLegion

BIG defeated GamerLegion the last time these two teams met, and they are expected to do it again. While this may sound fair, it begs the question of whether BIG should be priced as such big favourites.

They are not in great form, and even though GamerLegion’s recent wins came against lower-ranked teams, that doesn’t take away that unlike BIG, they’re in solid shape. Quality-wise, there is also not a lot to set the teams apart, so siding with GamerLegion at 2.20 makes a lot more sense.
