BIG vs The MongolZ Predictions

The MongolZ are 1.55 favourites to defeat BIG with the best Counter-Strike betting sites, while BIG enter the series as 2.40 underdogs. Both teams have had their moments during the group stage, so even though MongolZ have accomplished more this season, BIG are not to be underestimated.
Head to Head
The MongolZ and BIG have yet to meet this year.
BIG Form
BIG were not expected to do well at ESL Pro League Season 20; however, they exceeded expectations by making it to the playoffs as no.3 from Group C. They kicked off the tournament with a 1-2 loss against Imperial Esports but then secured three straight victories against Rooster, Fnatic, and Complexity, which is impressive for BIG’s standards.
They had the luxury of avoiding MOUZ, but considering how the latter performed this tournament, it’s more than fair to say that BIG have faced all of the top contenders from their group – aside from M80.
For this series, it is important to note that BIG have a reasonably solid map pool, with a better win rate on Nuke and Anubis, and they do about as well on Ancient as MongolZ.
BIG Squad & Team News
No roster changes for BIG.
- Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz
- Karim "Krimbo" Moussa
- Florian "syrsoN" Rische
- Jon "JDC" de Castro
- Rigon "rigoN" Gashi
The MongolZ Form
The MongolZ have been making some serious waves this season, even in some European Counter-Strikle competitions. And while they have cooled down a bit since June, MongolZ placed second at Skyesports Championship 2024 at the end of July and performed relatively well at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024.
So it comes as no surprise that the Asian squad made it through the ESL Pro League Season 20 group stage with a 3-2 record, which includes victories against KOI, 9z Team and 3DMAX – all 2-0 sweeps. Moreover, MongolZ forced Team Spirit to three maps, which is a great sign.
Unlike BIG, MongolZ previously performed well in other big European competitions, which gives them a bump here and explains why they are priced as favourites. Yet, compared to the teams’ form in Malta alone, MongolZ is not that much better.
The MongolZ Squad & Team News
The MongolZ have not announced any roster changes.
- Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren
- Sodbayar "Techno4K" Munkhbold
- Usukhbayar "910" Banzragch
- Ayush "mzinho" Batbold
- Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold
Verdict
The MongolZ have strong results from earlier this season, and they also performed well in the ESL Pro League Season 20 group stage. Yet while they look like a dangerous team, BIG have not disappointed either with what they’ve produced over the last couple of weeks.
This is still MongolZ’s game to lose, although it is not fair to expect a one-sided series, especially if BIG can keep playing as well as they have so far. Taking into consideration the map pools, this match should be decided on map 3.
