Bilibili Gaming have done an incredible job this split. They won Group Ascend with a 7-1 record and had a fairly easy road to the LPL 2024 Summer Playoffs finals, with wins against Weibo Gaming (3-0) and Top Esports (3-1) – so it's easy to see why they are expected to win on Friday.

However, it is important to note that their last clash with Weibo Gaming was much closer than what the final result would suggest. Both sides performed admirably well and could have easily won the series, but Bilibil Gaming consistently came out ahead from very close teamfights, eventually closing out the series 3-0.

It was a very impressive display from Bilibili Gaming, but not significantly better than what Weibo Gaming showed on the day.

Weibo Gaming placed only fourth in Group Ascend with a 5-3 record, but they turned on their jets in the playoffs and are now just one series away from claiming the LPL trophy. This, however, is not too shocking.

Weibo Gaming have always had the talent to do extremely well in the LPL, yet they lacked consistency – which was very evident throughout the regular season. They did, however, post some good games against the league's top sides, so seeing them make so far in the knockout stage is anything but surprising.

So far in the LPL 2024 Summer Playoffs, Weibo Gaming have beaten performing well, although with some close calls. They defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas (3-1), then lost a close series against BLG (0-3), edged past LNG Esports (3-2), and added another close win against Top Esports (3-2).

Despite playing close games against LNG Esports and Top Esports, this doesn't mean Weibo Gaming can't deliver against Bilibili Gaming, as they showed great things in their wins. The only real question with WBG is their consistency.

Bilibili Gaming already defeated Weibo Gaming once during the playoffs, but that series could have easily ended the other way had a few skirmishes ended in Weibo Gaming's favour. The main point to take from that series is that Weibo Gaming played just as well as BLG, so the loss doesn't really prove that Bilibili Gaming are that much stronger.

Weibo Gaming are still one of the more inconsistent teams, so betting on them is really just hoping they will step up on the day. Still at these numbers, the outsiders are a solid pick.
