Complexity entered BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024 as live underdogs to win their side of the bracket, and they seem to be in a great spot to do so. The North American side defeated Metizport in the first round in one clean swoop; however, they did have some close calls.

After crushing the Swedes on Ancient with 13-3, Complexity had to dig deep in overtime to claim Vertigo (16-12), yet in the end, the series wasn’t even close. A few misplays did make it seem like Complexity struggled more than they did – so despite the overtime win, they deserve all the praise they can get.

Team Falcons won their first match of the tournament, but it didn’t come without any close calls. Their series against M80 was fairly competitive, yet the international roster managed to pull through with 13-9 on Ancient and 16-14 on Dust II, proving to be the superior team on the day.

A lot of Falcons’ success on the day was thanks to Álvaro “SunPayus” García one of his best performances of the last few months, ending Dust II with a 1.47 performance rating for a combined 1.30, ahead of Emil “Magisk” Reif at 1.18.

While Team Falcons did post a solid result in the opening series, they are still 0-1 down in the head-to-head, which explains why the Falcons are expected to lose on Saturday. But the real question is how much weight can we put on the loss which happened back in June.
