Dplus KIA haven't had the best run through the 2024 League of Legends season. While they managed to secure the no.3 seed in the LoL Champions Korea (LCK), they have looked a bit off, but more importantly, very feast or famine.

Throughout the year, we've seen Dplus KIA show great performances but an equal amount of concerning games, so it has become very clear that you never know what to expect fo them. At LoL Worlds 2024, however, we've seen more of the latter, as Dplus KIA had questionable moments against Fnatic and even FlyQuest and were ultimately crushed by LNG Esports.

While there is a world where Dplus KIA shift into a higher gear, their past showings leave much to be desired.

Unlike Dplus KIA, Top Esports have looked stabler and did not look terrible against the tournament favourites, Gen.G. At least for the first 20 minutes; Top Esports managed to keep the series close until Gen.G picked up a few skirmishes and took over the control.

Things would likely have looked different if TES drafted a more scaling composition. Still, that's one big if, as TES remain very reliant on getting ahead early.

This is a fixture featuring two very strong teams, but while both Top Esports and Dplus KIA have enough talent to make it far, the past showings make it much harder to trust Dplus KIA in this contest.

Top Esports already bested T1, and they played fairly well against Gen.G, whereas Dplus KIA have so far only managed to defeat two Western teams, and they did not look great in either – making way too many unforced errors.

While Fnatic and FlyQuest were unable to punish Dplus KIA for it, Top Esports surely will. Unless Dplus KIA shift into a higher gear, this series will likely end in a comfortable 2-0 sweep for the Chinese representatives.
