EDward Gaming accomplished the unthinkable and made it all the way to the VALORANT Champions 2024 grand finals. They had a few close calls in the group stage yet edged out a spot in the knockouts with a 2-1 victory over Paper Rex.

The Chinese squad's run through the playoffs was just as close, starting with a 2-0 sweep of their regional rivals Trace Esports, to which EDG added two reverse sweeps against Sentinels and Leviatan. The last series was very close, with EDG edging out a victory on Abyss with 13-11, proving not only their solid map pool but their ability to deliver in clutch situations.

Like EDG, however, Team Heretics have had a few close calls in some of their recent series, so it's not fair to say one team has had a much easier road so far.

Team Heretics are expected to win, which given their success over the season, sounds fair. However, EDward Gaming have shown an entirely different side of them this tournament and look like a proper elite-tier team.

The Chinese squad also have a two-map-ban advantage, which is a huge boost to their chances, so even though it is fair to day Heretics are capable of higher highs, EDward Gaming at this price are more than worth a look.
