FaZe kicked off their tournament run with a 1-2 loss to Sangal Esports and then racked in three wins in the mid-bracket against FlyQuest, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Sangal Esports to secure their ticket in the playoffs.

Even in their three victories, FaZe Clan have failed to look as dominant as expected, dropping double digits across all three series, and they even needed overtime to make it past Ninjas in Pyjamas. So, while FaZe Clan's ceiling is very high, their recent showings leave a lot to be desired.

Complexity Form

Complexity qualified for the ESL Pro League Season 20 playoff as no.4 form Group C, where they showed some promising results. Despite losing to M80 (0-2) and BIG (1-2), Complexity did beat Astralis (2-1, 2-0) and MOUZ (2-0, 2-0), which is a highly promising sign.

Admittedly, MOUZ and Astralis have looked quite bad in Malta, so those results are not too exciting. Nevertheless, the North American side have looked solid in their four wins, and if they can keep playing like that, Complexity will have a realistic chance to compete for a top-four finish.

FaZe Clan v Complexity

FaZe Clan already bested Complexity earlier this season, but it happened six months ago, so that result means very little. More importantly, neither team have looked great so far during ESL Pro League Season 20, which begs the question of whether FaZe Clan deserve to be priced as such massive favourites.

They have a higher ceiling and a better map win rate on four of seven maps. Still, their lacklustre showings against teams weaker than Complexity suggest we could be in for a closer fixture.
