Fluxo and Aurora Gaming will lock horns on Wednesday, October 16, in the opening round of Group A at RES Regional Champions. It will mark their first clash of the season, and according to the crypto betting sites, Aurora Gaming are expected to win.

Fluxo enter the opening match of RES Regional Champions as 2.30 underdogs, whereas Aurora Gaming are priced as 1.55 favourites on Stake. As the higher-ranked team, Aurora deserves respect; however, Fluxo have shown good things of late and are not to be ignored.

Fluxo are one of the outsiders to win RES Regional Champions, which is fair considering they have not found much success over the last few months. In July, they had secured a few podiums in regional tournaments, but since then, Fluxo have added just one more deep tournament run at CCT Season 2 South American Series #3 last month.

Besides the shaky form Fluxo have shown of late, the Brazilian Counter-Strike team also made some roster changes, adding Guilherme "piriajr" Barbosa on September 23, ten days following the arrival of Kayke "kye" Bertolucci.

This, however, should not be a problem, as Fluxo have already played well over a dozen series with the newest members, and they've done well, with 12 wins from their last 14 outings.

Aurora Gaming Form

Aurora Gaming received a direct invite for RES Regional Champions, albeit they are not one of the leading favourites to go all the way. Priced at 5.50 on the outright betting markets, Aurora still pose a threat, but they will need to find more consistency.

Aurora are 7-3 from their last ten series, with losses against 3DMAX, GamerLegion, and Passion UA. On the other side, they've beaten Zero Tenacity, ECSTATIC, Into the Breach, ENDPOINT, AMKAL Esports, Sashi Esports, and GenOne.

While a promising run, Aurora Gaming don't have a great map pool, as they hold a better win rate than Fluxo on just three of seven maps, including Anubis (29%), Nuke (73%), and Dust2 (50%), but are only significantly better on Nuke.

Verdict

Fluxo v Aurora Gaming

Aurora Gaming are better ranked than Fluxo, but they are hardly that much better. The Russian Counter-Strike team have won seven of their last ten series, which helps justify the offered betting odds.

However, they have been somewhat inconsistent in some of their wins, and Aurora Gaming's map pool does not inspire much confidence either.

It is likely we'll see all three maps played, but this match should be priced much closer to even money, so we're taking Fluxo at 2.30 with Stake.
