FlyQuest are priced as 1.30 favourites with the top League of Legends bookmakers to defeat 100 Thieves, who enter the series as 3.20 underdogs. This is not too shocking given 100T's shaky performances throughout the season; however, they beat Cloud9, which counts for something.
- FlyQuest are in good form
- 100 Thieves have already exceeded expectations
- FlyQuest boast better performance metrics
Head to Head
FlyQuest and 100 Thieves had met once before this split, in Week 5 of the LCS 2024 Summer regular season, when FlyQuest won.
- FlyQuest 2-1 100 Thieves – July 28, 2024
FlyQuest Form
FlyQuest enter the lower bracket finals of the LCS 2024 Championship following a close 2-3 loss against Team Liquid in the upper bracket. It was a fairly competitive series that could've ended either way, which is a strong testament to FlyQuest's quality.
Admittedly, FlyQuest did not look like they could compete with Liquid or Cloud9 throughout the regular season, but they've found more traction of late, with a dominant win against C9 and a very solid showing against Team Liquid.
That does not change the fact that FlyQuest are still vulnerable in some areas. But we could've said the same throughout the regular season, yet the only two LoL esports teams who really managed to take advantage of that were Cloud9 and Team Liquid and less so lower-rated teams such as 100 Thieves.
FlyQuest Squad & Team News
No roster changes for FlyQuest.
- Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau – top lane
- Kacper "Inspired" Słoma – jungle
- Song "Quad" Su-hyeong – mid lane
- Fahad "Massu" Abdulmalek – ADC
- Alan "Busio" Cwalina – support
100 Thieves Form
100 Thieves struggled a lot in the LCS 2024 Summer regular season and finished in fifth place with a 3-4 record. However, despite their lacklustre showings, 100T made it to the lower bracket finals, thus securing a spot at the LoL World Championship 2024.
While a remarkable accomplishment, we have to consider that 100 Thieves haven't had the toughest run so far. They defeated Dignitas twice and then added a win against the struggling Cloud9, who made it very easy for 100 Thieves to pick up a win on that day.
Beating Cloud9 with the players they have is still impressive, but it's no indication of how the upcoming series should go.
100 Thieves Squad & Team News
No roster changes for 100 Thieves.
- Rayan "Sniper" Shoura – top lane
- Kim "River" Dong-woo – jungle
- Lim "Quid" Hyeon-seung – mid lane
- Frank "Tomo" Lam – ADC
- Bill "Eyla" Nguyen – support
Verdict
FlyQuest are priced as quite big favourites for this match which makes a lot of sense. Even though 100 Thieves won against Cloud9, that win was hardly something to write home about as Cloud9 did not perform as well on the day.
On the other side FlyQuest made it past Cloud9 as easily and also played a highly competitive game against the current no.1 team in the league. Moreover, FlyQuest are a very stable team, which should prevent 100 Thieves from accomplishing the same thing they did against Cloud9, where they won a few skirmishes and ran away with the lead.
Quality-wise and stylistically FlyQuest are the better team and should be set to walk away with a comfortable victory.
