FlyQuest vs Team Liquid Predictions
FlyQuest and Team Liquid will meet on Sunday, October 13, in the fifth round of League of Legends World Championships 2024, when they'll fight for the final ticket leading to the playoffs. The best crypto betting sites have Team Liquid and FlyQuest priced at the same odds, suggesting this should be a competitive series. While a fair assumption, given FlyQuest's decent showings at LoL Worlds 2024, Team Liquid have not looked terrible either.
- FlyQuest defeated Team Liquid in the LCS 2024 Championsip finals
- There is no betting favourite to win the series
- Both teams have had quite an easy road so far
Head to Head
Team Liquid and FlyQuets last met in the LCS Championship 2024 finals, when FlyQuest won.
- FlyQuest 3-1 Team Liquid – September 7, 2024
- Team Liquid 3-2 FlyQuest – August 31, 2024
FlyQuest Form
FlyQuest had a solid showing agianst Hanweha Life Esports, which was impressive, granted HLE did help FlyQuest look better with their sloppiness. Overall, FlyQuest showed a good read on the meta and tend to draft really well, which is not something to ignore.
However, in games where they don't get a draft edge, FlyQuest often roll over and die, which could happen on Sunday. Their scaling compositions work on paper, but if FlyQuest fall behind early they will struggle. It's a gamble which could work out, but not against an explosive early game LoL esports team like Liquid.
FlyQuest Squad &Team News
FlyQuest won't make any roster changes.
- Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau – top lane
- Kacper "Inspired" Słoma – jungle
- Song "Quad" Su-hyeong – mid lane
- Fahad "Massu" Abdulmalek – ADC
- Alan "Busio" Cwalina – support
Team Liquid Form
Team Liquid won their second LoL Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage match against GAM Esports in three maps. GAM jumped out on Liquid on the first map and took a surprise lead; however, Team Liquid won the next two with a typical "gain early lead into snowball" style we are used to from Liquid.
The most impressive part of Liquid's victory was their ability to remain cool under pressure after getting run over by GAM Esports in map one.
Liquid were heavy favourites to defeat FlyQuest in their last meeting, which made a lot of sense, considering Team Liquid are very good at getting ahead early – which is something FlyQuest tend to struggle with. However, FlyQuest have had their moments at LoL Worlds 2024, giving off an impression that they're better than how they were in the LCS Championship 2024 finals.
Team Liquid Squad & Team News
No roster changes for Team Liquid.
- Jeong "Impact" Eon-young – top lane
- Um "UmTi" Sung-hyeon – jungle
- Eain "APA" Stearns – mid lane
- Sean "Yeon" Sung – ADC
- Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in – support
Verdict
Team Liquid have been performing well this tournament even though they're in a 2-2 spot. Despite the two losses, they've shown great things, but more importantly, their style should work well against what FlyQuest want to achieve.
While you could make a case for FlyQuest as a more stable side so far at LoL Worlds, there are not many reasons to have these two teams priced so closely, especially considering Liquid were the better team throughout the LCS season.
FlyQuest are not bad, far from it, but the stylistic differences favour Liquid in this contest.
