G2 Esports vs T1 Predictions

G2 Esports and T1 will meet on Friday, October 11, in the fourth round of the League of Legends World Championship 2024 Swiss Stage. The two teams met twice before this season, and both meetings ended in T1's favour.

G2 Esports are priced as 2.80 underdogs to defeat T1, who are priced as 1.42 on Stake. This comes as no surprise given T1's strong head-to-head record; however, G2 Esports should not be entirely ignored.

  • G2 Esports have looked a bit off of late
  • T1 are highly inconsistent
  • T1 are 2-0 up in the head-to-head

Head to Head

T1 and G2 Esports met twice during the Mid-Season Invitational 2024, and both series ended in T1's favour.

  • T1 3-2 G2 Esports – May 10, 2024
  • T1 3-0 G2 Esports – May 17, 2024

G2 Esports Form

G2 Esports have won two games in LoL Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage, against paiN Gaming and Weibo Gaming. Unfortunately, they were far less impressive against Hanwha Life Esports, who crushed them in the second round.

The fixture against HLE seemed close at times, but it was mostly due to Hanwha Life Esports' mistakes, which allowed G2 Esports to get back into the game. Other than that, it was a clean victory for the Korean Lol esports squad.

G2 Esports have not looked the best in the latter stages of the season, and they did not seem like themselves even domestically. Still, they have shown a bit more on the big stage, especially against Weibo Gaming, where they displayed solid neutral objective control and an excellent approach to drafting.

This is a talented and well-coached team, so while G2 Esports haven't looked the best at times this season, they remain a team that can beat anyone on a good day.

G2 Esports Squad & Team News

G2 Esports have not made any roster changes.

  • Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik – top lane
  • Martin "Yike" Sundelin – jungle
  • Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther – mid lane
  • Steven "Hans Sama" Liv – ADC
  • Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle – support

T1 Form

T1 are 2-1 heading into this match with wins against paiN Gaming and Bilibili Gaming and one loss against Top Esports in the opening round. Even their loss could've easily ended the other way, so overall, T1 have been performing well.

On the other side, T1 were a bit lucky to defeat Bilkibili Gaming. Perhaps a better way to say it is that Bilibili Gaming choked in the series, gave away way too much and got punished for it.

The series as a whole was a slugfest, but T1's dragon stacking proved effective, forcing Bilibili Gamign to pick unfavourable fights. Overall, a solid approach from T1, but they're not quite there yet.

T1 Squad & Team News

No changes for T1.

  • Choi "Zeus" Woo-je – top lane
  • Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun – jungle
  • Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok – mid lane
  • Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyung – ADC
  • Ryu "Keria" Min-seok – support

Verdict

Both T1 and G2 Esports are very methodical teams, great at neutral objective control, and very efficient in keeping the games close. T1 arguably field better players, but the quality difference is marginal enough to say we can expect a highly competitive series.

At best, T1 should be 1.80 favourites to defeat G2 Esports, so at this price, it is hard to look past G2 Esports.
