In April, the Chinese squad placed ninth-12th at Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 and have since added a fourth-place finish at MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024, a trophy from ESL Challenger League Season 47: Asia and a semifinal appearance at XSE Pro League Season 2.

Most of their most recent wins came against weaker regional opponents, so success should not translate to their fixture against Natus Vincere. Still, Lynn Vision are a capable team and they have the element of surprise on their side, as NaVi don't exactly have much experience facing Chinese squads.

Natus Vincere are one of the leading favourites to win ESL Pro League Season 20. They're the current no.1 team on the global Counter-Strike ladder and are fresh off a solid run at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024, where NaVi placed second.

In July, they also won the Esports World Cup 2024 and, a month prior, claimed another silver medal from BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024. Their most notable iffy showing of the last three months came at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024, where Natus Vincere placed fifth-sixth.

Despite that minor slip-up, Natus Vincere are in excellent form, with an 11-3 record from their last 14 series, and most of those games came against other top-10 rated teams. So suffice it to say, NaVi have the talent to do extremely well in Malta.
