MAD Lions KOI are 1.40 favourites to defeat GAM Esports who enter the match priced at 2.90 with the best crypto betting sites. This price gap is not as shocking considering GAM Esports have looked like the weakest LoL esports team on the Swiss Stage, but like GAM, MAD Lions KOI are flawed.
- MAD Lions KOI have looked a bit shaky
- GAM Esports are the weakest team of the Swiss Stage
- The loser gets eliminated from the tournament
Head to Head
This will be the first-ever meeting between MAD Lions KOI and GAM Esports.
MAD Lions KOI Form
MAD Lions KOI kicked off their LoL Worlds 2024 campaign in the play-in stage, where they bested Vikings Esports and PSG Talon. However, despite the promising start, MAD Lions failed to secure another victory in the Swiss Stage with losses against Bilibili Gaming and PSG Talon.
So far, the MAD Lions have not given us many reasons to feel excited about them, as they have been outclassed by both BLG and PSG Talon. However, this does not necessarily mean much, as their next opponents are qualitatively much weaker than what the MAD Lions KOI have faced so far.
On the other hand, even the two wins MAD Lions KOI secured in the play-in stage were a bit lucky, and that includes their victory against Vikings Esports, who beat themselves.
MAD Lions KOI Squad & Team News
No roster changes for MAD Lions KOI.
- Alex "Myrwn" Pastor Villarejo – top lane
- Javier "Elyoya" Prades Batall – jungle
- Bartłomiej "Fresskowy" Przewoźnik – mid lane
- David "Supa" Martínez García – ADC
- Álvaro "Alvaro" Fernández del Amo – support
GAM Esports Form
GAM Esports looked very good in the play-in stage, but like MAD Lions KOI, they've been toothless in the Swiss Stage with losses against FlyQuets and Fnatic. It's not a surprising pair of results, considering the quality difference between the Vietnamese and the rest of the leagues.
The series against Fnatic was a bit strange. GAM opted for excellent scaling but made a critical flaw in their draft as they did not have a tank, which played a big role in their loss. Still, they held on well for the first 20 minutes before the European LoL esports team took over the reins and it was over from there.
GAM Esports lost the series by seven kills, and it wasn't very close for the latter part. Still, they displayed some good things in the early game, so it is fair to wonder how the game would've ended had Fnatic performed slightly worse.
GAM Esports Squad & Team News
GAM Esports will not make any roster changes.
- Trần "Kiaya" Duy Sang – top lane
- Đỗ "Levi" Duy Khánh – jungle
- Nguyễn "Emo" Thái Vinh – mid lane
- Hứa "EasyLove" Thành An – ADC
- Phạm "Elio" Thạch Nhân Băng – support
Verdict
MAD Lions KOI look like the better team on paper, but mainly because they hail from a stronger league. Still, as mentioned before, MAD Lions KOI were hardly the third-best squad from the LEC, so we can adjust our perception of this team.
Even at LoL Words 2024, MAD Lions have shown very little, and while they have struggled against stronger teams than GAM Esports, there are still some fundamental issues with this team, which make them a less appealing pick as big favourites.
GAM Esports have their problems, but they have held on well against squads who are up there with MAD Lions, so it is not entirely unlikely to see a closer, but more importantly, a bloodier match.
