MAD Lions KOI are priced as 1.78 favourites to defeat PSG Talon, who enter the series as 2.00 underdogs with the best League of Legends betting sites. This price is based mainly on what the two teams have shown in the first round when PSG Talon dropped one map, but the eye test proves MAD Lions KOI were not that effective either.
- MAD Lions KOI swept Vikings Esports in round one
- PSG Talon dropped a map against paiN Gaming in round one
- Both teams are expected to qualify for the Swiss Stage
Head to Head
MAD Lions and PSG Talon have yet to meet with their current lineups.
MAD Lions KOI Form
MAD Lions KOI took care of business in the first match of the Play-In stage by sweeping Vikings Esports in two maps. As was expected, it was a one-sided series, yet there are some things to note about the match that make MAD Lions KOI's success less impressive.
MAD Lions really tried hard to throw away the first map, yet managed to hold on and squeezed their way over the finish line. The second map of the series was not nearly as one-sided, largely thanks to Vikings Esports' errors.
The underdogs allowed MAD Lions' David "Supa" Martínez García a bit too much freedom on Jinx, which can only end one way. MAD Lions deserved to win that series, but it was more Vikings Esports playing poorly.
MAD Lions KOI Squad & Team News
No roster changes for MAD Lions.
- Alex "Myrwn" Pastor Villarejo – top lane
- Javier "Elyoya" Prades Batalla – jungle
- Bartłomiej "Fresskowy" Przewoźnik – mid lane
- David "Supa" Martínez García – ADC
- Álvaro "Alvaro" Fernández del Amo - support
PSG Talon Form
PSG Talon, like MAD Lions, won their first match of the LoL Worlds 2024 Play-In stage, but like MAD Lions, they were expected to. That is why seeing PSG Talon drop one map against paiN Gaming might look worse than it really is. However, that's not the case.
The Brazilian LoL esports team played incredibly well on Map 1 where PSG Talon opted for Rumble and two ADC compositions. Unfortunately, this didn't work out as paiN Gaming's ADC got too fed on Lucian to a point where PSG Talon had no response.
PSG Talon responded with a dominant win on Map 2, and while they had to dig deep on Map 3, Talon were the clear best team on the day, largely thanks to Huang "Maple" Yi-Tang.
PSG Talon Squad & Team News
PSG Talon with no roster changes.
- Huang "Azhi" Shang-Jhih – top lane
- Yu "JunJia" Chun-Chia – jungle
- Huang "Maple" Yi-Tang – mid lane
- Lu "Betty" Yu-Hung – ADC
- Lin "Woody" Yu-En – support
Verdict
PSG Talon played a worse game against paiN Gaming compared to MAD Lions KOI against Vikings Esports - on paper. But realistically, it is not fair to say that MAD Lions showed much more on day one.
These are two of the strongest squads in the Play-In stage, yet between the two, PSG Talon have a much higher ceiling. They were by far the most dominant team in the PCS, whereas MAD Lions KOI were hardly the fourth-best team in the LEC.
The wrong team is favoured.
