MIBR vs 9z Team Predictions
MIBR and 9z Team are set to meet on Tuesday, September 3, in the first round of Group B at ESL Pro League Season 20. It will mark their first clash since Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024 when 9z Team won, and according to the top Counter-Strike bookmakers, they should win again.

9z Team are priced as 1.55 favourites with Stake to defeat MIBR, who are 2.40 underdogs for the upcoming affair. This comes as no surprise considering 9z’s past success, but more so MIBR’s poor form over the last few weeks.
- MIBR (#24) are worse ranked than 9z Team (#15)
- 9z Team have missed results heading into ESL Pro League Season 20
- The two rosters know each other well
Head to Head
MIBR and 9z Team have met twice since June and both meetings ended in 9z’s favour.
- 9z Team 2-1 MIBR – June 6, 2024
- 9z Team 2-0 MIBR – August 9, 2024
MIBR Form
MIBR found some success at the start of August when they placed second at CCT Season 2 South American Series #2. However, that is their only notable accomplishment since April, when they won the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2024.
Form-wise, MIBR are not in a good spot, having won five of their last ten series, albeit mainly against weaker opponents. The only victory over that stretch worth noting came against HEROIC (2-1), but perhaps more notable are MIBR’s losses against BESTIA, paiN Gaming, 9z Team, and ODDIK.
Overall, the Brazilian Counter-Strike esports squad have given us very little to feel excited about.
While there is a world where MIBR find more success down the line, they are not in a great spot heading into their first match of ESL Pro League Season 20.

- Raphael "exit" Lacerda
- Breno "brnz4n" Poletto
- Felipe "insani" Yuji
- André "drop" Abreu
- Rafael "saffee" Costa
9z Team Form
9z Team proved themselves as a capable team before the summer break when they won FiReLEAGUE Global Final 2023 without any issues. They have since produced a mixed bag of results, with four wins over a nine-game stretch.
That includes just one victory from their last five, with defeats against Astralis, Team Falcons and twice against paiN Gaming. In most of those losses, 9z Team performed well, yet it is hard to look past the fact that they’ve not collected many victories lately.
On the other side, 9z defeated MIBR quite easily during Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024 last month, so it is easy to see why they are expected to do well on Tuesday.
9z Team Squad & Team News
9z Team have not announced any recent roster changes.
- Franco "dgt" Garcia
- Maximiliano "max" Gonzalez
- Nicolás "buda" Kramer
- Matias "HUASOPEEK" Ibañez
- Antonio "Martinez" Martinez
Verdict
It is not surprising to see 9z Team priced as favourites for this match, considering they did not have many issues beating MIBR in their last two meetings. On the other side, 9z have not won many games recently, and in their last clash with MIBR, they needed overtime to win the first map.
Even though MIBR are not in the best shape nor can they be considered as a good team, it is not entirely unlikely for them to take a map. With a better map record on Inferno, Vertigo, and Ancient, MIBR should be in a fine spot to make at least one map difficult for 9z, so while this is still 9z Team’s game to lose, over 2.5 maps at 1.88 looks like the best play.
