MIBR vs G2 Esports Predictions

Counter-Strike bookmakers have MIBR priced as 4.40 underdogs to defeat G2 Esports, who enter the series as 1.20 favourites. At this number, MIBR are expected to win in just 22.7% of scenarios, which is a low number, albeit perhaps not wrong.

Head to Head

MIBR vs G2 Esports have yet to meet this year.

MIBR Form

MIBR have outdone themselves in Malta and are now just one step away from securing a direct invite to the ESL Pro League 20 quarterfinals. This, however, is much easier said than done.

The Brazilians started their run with a 2-0 sweep of the 9z Team and then added a massive 2-1 victory against Team Spirit in the upper bracket semifinals. Beating Spirit alone is a huge accomplishment, but MIBR also did it with a reverse sweep after dropping Ancient 2-13.

Having shown great things so far in this tournament, MIBR deserves some respect. But you have to ask yourself whether it was a fluke or if MIBR are actually capable of standing their ground against the world’s elite Counter-Strike teams.

G2 Esports Form

G2 Esports were one of the leading candidates – besides Spirit – to win Group A, and they’re still on the path to do it. They had a solid start to the campaign with a 2-0 sweep of KOI but then needed to reverse-sweep 3DMAX in the upper bracket semifinals.

It was not the best display, but G2 Esports got it done, and much like MIBR, they showed their ability to perform in clutch moments.

Overall, G2 Esports could have done better, but they showed solid form leading to ESL Pro League Season 20, with a runner-up finish at the Esports World Cup 2024 and a top-place finish at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024.

G2 Esports Squad & Team News

Verdict

G2 Esports are rightly priced as favourites for this match, however, it is hard to ignore the solid performances MIBR have posted of late. While it is fair to say that Team Spirit did not perform well in their loss against MIBR – that does not take away from what MIBR showed on the day.

It is also important to note that G2 Esports, despite their quality, have not been performing particularly well, and seeing them drop a map against 3DMAX suggests there’s a good chance it might happen again against MIBR.
