In the opening round of the Swiss Stage, MAD Lions lost to Bilibili Gaming in a fairly one-sided game. However, that was expected, so there is not really much to take away form it – MAD Lions were the worse team on the day, and they're clearly not at the level of the top title contenders.

Based on everything we've seen from MAD Lions this tournament, this series will come down only to how PSG Talon will perform and whether they can improve upon their showing in the play-ins.

PSG Talon lost their opening series of LoL Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage against Hanwha Life Esports, which comes as no surprise. They were not expected to win, nor did they come close to taking the game off the Korean LoL esports team, but they are now up against a weaker side.

The PCS top seed are a bit of an enigma. They looked incredible throughout the 2024 LoL esports season, but since the start of the play-in stage, they've not been performing as good. They threw away the series against MAD Lions in September and have not shown much improvement since.

PSG Talon are not playing well relative to what we got used to seeing from them, so you have to ask yourself whether this is an indication of a steep drop in form or if PSG Talon just needed some time to warm up.

So far, PSG Talon have looked quite sloppy – especially in their last meeting with MAD Lions KOI – and they've not shown significant improvement since. Still, if they find their rhythm, PSG Talon are clearly the better team in this contest.
