Lack of experience competing at the highest level is far from great and one of the main reasons why RED Canids are not expected to do well in Malta.

They are in good form, however. RED Canids have won seven of the last ten series, which includes victories against KRU Esports, Solid, ODDIK, Fluxo, and Case, and defeats against KRU, Case, and ODDIK. A bit of a mixed bag of results, and considering all those games came against weaker regional opponents, so we have to question RED Canids' ability to hold their own against Virtus.pro.

Virtus.pro Form

Virtus.pro have climbed their way into the top-10 on the Counter-Strike global standings with strong showings in recent S-Tier tournaments. They placed top four at BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2024 and Esports World Cup 2024, then posted a bit worse showings at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024 and Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024, bounced back with another semifinal appearance at BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024.

Most recently, Virtus.pro exited BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2 in fifth-sixth place, which isn't too promising. In the tournament, they won just one series against Team Falcons but lost the remaining two against FURIA and paiN Gaming.

With those defeats, Virtus.pro are 3-7 from their last ten series, which is hardly inspiring. But in their defence, most of those losses came against stronger squads, suggesting they should do better against RED Canids.

Verdict

RED Canids v Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro should not struggle to beat RED Canids, but their form heading into ESL Pro League Season 20 makes believing they might drop a map far more believable. Moreover, RED Canids are in good form, and while all of their most recent victories came against weaker squads, RED Canids have shown some good things and seem ready to take a step up in competition.

Map pool-wise, the two teams are fairly similar, although RED Canids have a deeper pool. They regularly play both Nuke and Vertigo, which Virtus.pro does not.

Quality-wise, Virtus.pro are far above RED Canids; considering their form, it is not too crazy to believe the Russians will not have an easy time on Tuesday.
