Team Falcons enter the BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024 semifinals following a solid showing against Complexity, who they beat 2-1. They needed a reverse sweep to make it past the North American Counter-Strike team, albeit it's not like the Falcons didn't deserve to win on the day.

After losing Nuke 6-13, Team Falcons turned on their jets and defeated Complexity 13-10 on Vertigo and 13-5 on Anubis. A lot of the Falcons' success was thanks to Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia, who were the driving force in their team's victory on the day, with SunPayus continuing to make a case for himself as the top player on his squad.

Virtus.pro Form

Virtus.pro entered BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024 as the leading betting favourites to win their side of the bracket, and they remain in an excellent spot to do so. According to Stake, the Russian squad are favoured to win, which isn't too shocking considering what they have produced so far in this tournament.

Virtus.pro kicked off the event with a 2-0 sweep of Zero Tenacity, to which they added a 2-1 reverse sweep of BIG. The last series wasn't particularly one-sided, but it could've easily ended in a 2-0 sweep for VP, who lost Ancient in overtime (16-19) and then picked up Mirage (13-7) and Dust II (13-10) with relative ease.

Denis "electroNic" Sharipov was again the top performer on the team, ending the series with a 1.32 performance rating, although we did see a very strong showing from Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev and Dzhami "Jame" Ali as well, suggesting the whole CS esports squad is waking up just in time.

Verdict

Team Falcons v Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro have shown higher highs this season, and the whole roster seems to be peaking just at the right time to defeat Team Falcons and win their side of the bracket. Falcons did beat Virtus.pro in their last two meetings, however, so that is not something that should be taken lightly, especially considering the Falcons, like VP, are in great form.

This could turn out to be a very competitive series, yet there is no telling which of the two sides should really be expected to win. Considering their most recent displays, Virtus.pro should likely be slightly favoured, but taking over 2.5 maps does make more sense here.
