Team Liquid have been performing admirably well since the start of summer, with a few strong showings in several big-profile events. They placed second at CCT Season 1 Global Finals in May and have since won BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024 and placed fifth-sixth at ESL Pro League Season 20.

Over that stretch, Team Liquid have done a good job beating lower-ranked teams; however, they have looked vulnerable against the world's elite Counter-Strike squads. That is noticeable in their more recent six series, with wins against Team Spirit and Complexity and losses against Vitality (twice), G2 Esports, and FaZe Clan.

Complexity Form

Complexity found some success in August when they placed seventh-eighth at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024 and fifth-eighth at BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024. They also reached the top 12 at ESL Pro League Season 20, with a few strong showings, beating Astralis, MOUZ, and FaZe Clan.

However, while Complexity have shown some pulse of late, they are also a bit inconsistent and more importantly, they've not looked great against Team Liquid.

Complexity lost their last two meetings with their regional rivals, and both ended in very one-sided wins for Liquid. At IEM Cologne 2024, Complexity lost 5-13, 10-13, and at ESL Pro League Season 20, they managed just nine combined rounds (2-13, 7-13).

Team Liquid v Complexity

Complexity have been trending up of late, but so have Team Liquid and unlike Complexity, Liquid have shown a lot more at the highest level.

They have squeezed their way into the top-eight in the last S-Tier tournaments with strong performances against the world's elite CS esports teams. And besides their strong form, Liquid have also done very well in their recent meetings with Complexity.

As suggested by esports bookmakers, this is Team Liquid's game to lose, and even though it is a best-of-one, there are not many reasons to believe Complexity have a realistic chance to get their revenge.
