Top Esports vs T1 Predictions

T1 are priced as 1.72 favourites to defeat Top Esports for the second time this season, while the Chinese representatives are 2.00 underdogs with crypto betting sites. This comes as no shock, considering T1 have always done well in international events; however, their form heading to LoL Worlds 2024 hasn't been great.
- T1 already defeated Top Esports in July
- Both are elite-tier teams and serious title contenders
- Neither squad dominated their domestic competitions
Head to Head
T1 and Top Esports last met in the Esports World Cup 2024 grand final, when T1 won in four maps.
- T1 3-1 Top Esports – July 7, 2024
Top Esports Form
Top Esports have not won a single trophy this season; however, they have been nothing short of excellent, from their runner-up finish in the LoL Pro League (LPL) 2024 Spring to a bronze medal in the summer season.
While TES choked at the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 and placed fifth-sixth, they've shown significant improvement in the latter stages of the year, with a runner-up finish at the Esports World Cup 2024 and a very strong showing in the LPL summer playoffs.
An elite team top to bottom, T1 have proven very effective in running over any weaker opponent. They've even secured a few impressive wins against tougher opponents. Yet as it has become evident, TES tend to rely a lot on their early game.
More times than not, Top Esports will run away with a lead and close out the series, but when shut down pre-mid-game, they tend to do worse.
Top Esports Squad & Team News
Top Esports have not announced any roster changes.
- Bai "369" Jiahao – top lane
- Gao "Tian" Tianliang – jungle
- Lin "Creme" Jian – mid lane
- Wenbo "JackeyLove" Yu – ADC
- Tian "Meiko" Ye – support
T1 Form
T1 are the defending world champions, however, they are not one of the leading favourites to contest the Summoner's Cup. Despite winning the Esports World Cup 2024 earlier this year, T1 have not looked great in the latter stages of the LoL esports season and secured a spot at Worlds by the skin of their teeth.
It is more than fair to expect this roster to find more stability at one point, but there is no telling when that will happen and if it will happen at the world championship. The only thing T1 have going for them is the experience and potential high ceiling, yet if we look at their numbers from the second half of LoL Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 season onwards, T1 have been anything but convincing.
T1 Squad & Team News
No roster changes for T1.
- Choi "Zeus" Woo-je – top lane
- Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun – jungle
- Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok – mid lane
- Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyung – ADC
- Ryu "Keria" Min-seok – support
Verdict
If you believe T1 will wake up and show what they are capable of, even at this price, they are a solid pick. But their past showings over the last two months, suggest T1 are not quite there yet, and until they prove us otherwise, T1 should be faded as favourites.
Top Esports might not have won the LPL, yet they only really struggled against Bilibili Gaming, who are unquestionably one of the top teams in the world. This is more than a winnable match for the Chinese outfit.
