Last month, Virtus.pro exited ESL Pro League Season 20 in 13th-16th-place and, just over a week ago, ended their Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024 campaign in fifth-sixth place with wins against 9z Team, Astralis and The MongolZ.

Evidently, Virtus.pro are not quite up there with the best teams in the world; however, seeing them perform well against lesser opponents gives hope they can deliver against UNPAID.

UNPAID (formerly BLEED Esports) will play their first tournament since the international roster cut ties with the Singaporean esports organisation. With minor changes, this will be the same lineup that represented BLEED, who have shown some pulse over the last few months.

UNPAID are 2-3 from their last five series, with wins against GUN5 Esports and Sashi, and defeats against latjbit and Sashi Esports twice. While this is not the most promising record to hold, we have to consider that BLEED had little motivation to perform, considering the alleged delayed salary payments, among other things.

This is a capable lineup that can compete at a high level, and considering they are up against Virtus.pro, who are not very consistent, it is fair to question why they are 4.80 underdogs on Stake.

Virtus.pro v UNPAID

Virtus.pro have unquestionably accomplished more than UNPAID this season, and they've had a chance to play much stronger teams over the last few months. However, VP have not been particularly successful in those matchups and even against lesser opponents, they have proven to be widely inconsistent.

UNPAID lineup have a lot to prove following their poor spell under BLEED Esports, but while their past results aren't great, there are other factors which contributed to that. This is still a capable lineup, and while their actual strength is questionable, UNPAID should be good for one map.
